The Squared Circle

I chose the Squared Circle as the main foundation of our new logo.  There are a few reasons why this symbol is the perfect fit for our mission.  Many, actually, but mainly for the following:

1 - Both the circle and the square create a 360 degree shape, but they each take a very different approach.

The square represents a more structured and predictable vision.  A strong foundation of right angles and even sides. Our program is built upon the strongest and most fundamental roots of human health.

On the other side, the circle represents more of a fluid and adaptable flow.  Somewhat of a polarity to the feel of the square, yet equally as vital in our ability to balance and thrive.

2 - The square can be compartmentalized into it’s 4 distinct corners.  These sections symbolize our journey for balance among the FOUR bodies of health - Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual.  The pillars of FOURtress Health & Performance.

The circle, on the other hand, reminds us that there really is no separation of these bodies.  Where one ends and the next begins, can never really be identified. As we grow we learn that each plays a vital role in the development of the other 3, with no exceptions or imbalances.  And, like the circle, there is no beginning or end to this quest.

3 - These shapes illustrate simplicity.  The difference between a square and a circle was probably one of the first things we ever “learned” in the traditional sense.  The concept can be understood by a toddler using basic senses of sight and touch.

This is the most unique feature of our program.  Our philosophies, teaching methods, and coaching principles respect the intelligence and complexity of the human being, but also the beauty of its simplicity.

If you can understand circles and squares, you can learn motion and stillness, light and dark, inhaling and exhaling, plants and animals, etc.  We are all equipped with everything we need to thrive in this body, in this environment. Allow us to #decomplexify it all.
